This fast-growing energy company, SemGroup, needed to consolidate several departments within a short time period. KKT Architects, Inc. employed a “fast-track” building design, staging construction by floor. This approach allowed several laboratories to operate within a few months of the project’s beginning. During the design of its offices, SemGroup and KKT chose environmentally friendly materials including energy-efficient light fixtures, recycled carpet, reusable resin panels and low-VOC paint. The interior program included 13 research laboratories, 300 offices, a library, a board room, a theater, break/dining rooms, a 30,000 SF fitness center and updated common areas. The project also featured a fully accessible 112-seat Learning Center complete with a fully integrated AV system.
