Dawn’s detailed analysis of construction documents and careful supervision have helped many clients get the building they want. She has enjoyed her work in construction for more than 20 years. She is thorough and proactive in her work, helping owners, architects, and contractors throughout the construction of a project. From document reviews to RFI’s, submittals, participation in construction meetings, site visits, and field reports, Dawn works directly with contractors and clients to monitor progress and provide information as needed to complete projects according to the design and established construction schedule.

- Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Oklahoma State University
What attracted you to design, and when did you know that you wanted to make a career out of it?
I’ve had a passion for design and architecture since a young age. After graduating, I began my career in construction by joining a leasing company’s construction department, which paved the way for my next role as an estimator and project manager with a general contractor. When it was time for my next step, KKT reached out to me, and that marked the beginning of my journey in construction administration in 2007. Now, I’m excited to be transitioning into specification writing and mentoring within our office, focusing on construction detailing, specifications, and CA processes.
What is your favorite type of project and why?
I enjoy every type of project because each one brings a unique opportunity to learn and grow.
What advice do you have for people who would like to begin a career in CA or specification? Intern with a variety of companies—construction, design, and vendors. Each offers valuable insights and experiences that deepen your understanding of all aspects of the design and construction process.

Where’s your favorite vacation spot?
At home with my family, dogs, and massive stack of unread books!
