Community Health Connection

Tulsa, Oklahoma

Community Health Connection is a nonprofit medical facility serving a large, diverse population that includes non-English speaking families. With the move of the clinic to their new space funded by Vision Tulsa, the staff wanted a simple wayfinding process to best serve its patients. The KKT design team implemented a universal, color-based scheme that would allow anyone, regardless of language, to find their way around the clinic. The clinic’s warm, neutral backdrop palette allows the bold colors to pop. The layout of the clinic is designed around a central waiting area and pharmacy. Medical, behavioral health, and dental services stem from the lobby for ease of access. The low, linear building profile is punctuated by a double-height entry canopy and façade that visually draws the community into the facility. Due to the proximity to the Ellen Ochoa Elementary School, the exterior of the building echoes elements from the school, but the unique metal-paneled awning gives the clinic a distinct façade.
