St. Jude Affiliate Clinic at The Children’s Hospital

KKT is honored to have teamed with Saint Francis to bring their vision for a St. Jude-affiliated clinic to life, bringing state-of-the-art care and innovative clinical trials to area children with cancer and blood disorders. The clinic is designed to reduce stress for patients as well as their families. KKT’s concept helps children imagine themselves in a playful garden wonderland. Touch-tone lighting at the nurses’ station gives children an interactive experience at the desk, and teen spaces allow independence and privacy. This project’s challenge was to maximize usable square footage and create an open, spacious feel within the boundaries of an existing Pediatric Oncology clinic. The timeline and budget prevented the relocation of utilities located in the middle of the available play space, so KKT designed a custom piece of art to conceal the utilities while keeping them accessible to maintenance.
