Tiffany Retro Apartments

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

This iconic 1966 apartment building stood vacant for several years until it became eligible for renovation using Historic Tax Credits. KKT Architects worked with the contractor and owner in a design-build process, beginning by completely gutting the building to its concrete structure. Requirements for Historic Tax Credits dictated that apartments were designed around the existing placement of windows and balconies as well as corridors and apartment entry door locations. The basement and first floor boast a convenience store, theater room, community room, conference room, fitness room, dog wash, and bike repair and storage. The adjacent new-construction building includes 24 apartments and a pool deck constructed over a covered parking area.

Our design team worked closely with the owner to develop finishes that are contemporary while reflecting the original mid-century modern aesthetics throughout both buildings.
