Our design team has been working closely with the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OSDMHSAS) and the Griffin Memorial Hospital Executive team sinc e 2021 to evaluate the options to design a new mental health facility in central Oklahoma to provide much needed services for the community. Ultimately, our team evaluated four (4) distinct sites (in OKC and Norman) looking at architectural variables such as cost, access, safety, visibility, as well as design value. We are excited that OSDMHS AS has officially moved forward with a location in Oklahoma City, and o ur team has been working on the design for this site for the past year.

KKT Architects is currently in design for this new 330-bed facility with a focus on care with dignity and safety in mind. The facility will have both an adolescent and adult services wings, as well as administration, education, and support services. The new facility includes continuous care, as well as some outpatient services. The project is in design with the anticipation to start construction in late 2024.
