Over the past three years, KKT has been working with the Southeastern Oklahoma Library System to help envision and fundraise for the future McAlester Library. After analyzing concepts to redevelop a downtown main street building into the future library, the library moved to develop a renovation of their existing mid-century library facility. The trapeziumshaped, monolithic building sits on a steep hill and our team created a variety of design solutions that ranged from extending a modern glass wing out from the existing building to a more subtle renovation that recaptures some existing space under the building’s overhang. Each scheme completely reimagines and modernizes the interior of the space to focus on creating spaces for the community to meet, study, or even work within a proposed incubator space. Our team is presently engaged in the design phase for this exciting project
